Course Overview:
This is a capstone course providing a structure for seniors to bring closure to their undergraduate experience while preparing for the transition from the university to the workplace or further academic study. In this course, students develop a research project drawing on the academic areas emphasized within their Integrative Studies degree plan. This course is a requirement for all Integrative Studies majors.

Course Format:

This online course is entirely conducted on Desire2Learn. The coursework is designed in an asynchronistic model with deadlines. The online course format maximizes class community experience through the course ten Discussions and with Six Assignments to best utilize the mission of the course. The ten discussions are designed for the learner to read and reflect on the course resources and the Six Assignments are designed to result in the designing and developing your GPS: Grad Portfolio.

  3. Students will develop a plan for pursuing their selected career path based on the awareness of the variety of post-graduate choices available to them. (for example, career search process, planning for graduate school, starting a business, etc.)
  4. Students will develop the tools needed to conduct an effective search for a career, graduate school or other post-graduate choice (for example, resume/curriculum vitae development, interviewing skills, present portfolio, etc.).
  5. Students will identify enhanced networking and people skills essential to aid in their success after they exit the intuition. (for example, develop their learning story, create an elevator speech, create a public portfolio, become an active alumnus, etc.)
